Biography
Brian Ashing (b.1994) is a visual artist from Trinidad & Tobago working primarily in oils. Classical realism grounds the majority of his work which features portraiture, still life and landscapes. He employs the sensibilities and aesthetic principles of old Dutch masters, as well as Caribbean figurative artists. His work is introspective and generally speaks to conversations around the human psyche and cognitive behaviours. Ashing’s work is held in both public and private collections within Trinidad & Tobago, Europe and the USA. He currently creates full-time from his home in Piarco, Trinidad.
